PTI workers in Pindi Bhattian distributed sweets among citizens to express their jubilation over the victory of Nighat Intisar Bhatti by defeating PML-N candidate. They also displayed profuse fireworks and workers danced to the tune of drums.
Meanwhile, PTI District President Amanullah Sandhu also distributed sweets at District Courts to celebrate the party’s winning of first-ever seat in Hafizabad district. Addressing mediamen, he said that Tsunami of PTI had swept away feudals of Hafizabad.
Meanwhile, on the orders of the Punjab Chief Minister, the Pindi Bhattian DSP have started investigation into the humiliation of PML-N woman MPA Farzana Butt and Salma Butt allegedly by PTI workers when they visited the polling station. Aman Ullah Sandhu has condemned the misbehaviour of a mob which, according to him, felt that the women had intruded into the polling station for casting bogus votes.
He, however, said that it has been proved beyond any doubt that PML-N provincial leadership had deputed scores of MNAs and MPAs to engineer rigging but the courageous workers of the PTI foiled their evil attempts. He said all those who violated Code of Conduct and indulged in rigging should be taken to task. He said that he himself had caught son of PML-N MNA while stamping ballot papers outside a polling station in Madhora Kalan and a PML-N local MPA and his bodyguards had beaten up Presiding Officer Altaf Hussain at Sakhi when the PO stopped them to indulge in rigging. He failed to understand that police have taken no legal action against them.
Meanwhile, according to insiders of PML-N, the victory of PTI candidate Nighat Intisar Bhatti was not due to the popularity of PTI but due to sheer blunders of the PML-N District President who manoeuvred PML-N ticket to former MPA Sarfraz Ahmad Bhatti who remained aloof from politics since 1988 and parted ways with his age-old associates/five-time elected MPA Intisar Hussain Bhatti and Ansar Abbas Bhatti Ex-Tehsil Nazim Pindi Bhattian, sons of Late Mian Jahangir Khan Bhatti (MPA), who had strong footing among the masses.
Thereupon, Intisar Bhatti and Ansar Bhatti sat in the lap of their father’s old associates former MNA Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti and his brother former Federal Minister Liaqat Abbas Bhatti about a fortnight back. Ch Mehdi Bhatti welcomed them in their group and succeeded in getting the PTI ticket for Nighat Intisar Bhatti who defeated the PML-N nominee by over 5,000 votes.
