The Border Military Police 9BMP) succeeded in establishing a post in the “so-far no-go” tribal area of Toman Lund Basti Sur after a daylong joint operation by the BMP, the Punjab police, Elite Force and Baloch Levy.

Talking to The Nation, Political Assistant Muhammad Shahid Mehboob shared details of the operation, saying that a joint operation was launched following a tip-off about the presence of notorious proclaimed offenders and militants of banned terror groups including members of sectarian outfit in a no-go tribal area of Toman Lund Basti Sur.

He claimed that during the search operation, the security forces destroyed all the hideouts of notorious proclaimed offenders and militants. “After clearance of the area, now writ of the government has been established in the area while suspected militants have either fled to Baluchistan or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through the vast tribal belt stretching to the two neighbouring province,” he elaborated. The political assistant informed that now the BMP had taken over control of the area and a post had been set up to ensure security of the people.

Mr Mehboob declared that the joint operation was conducted in collaboration with the District Police force under the head of DPO Ghulam Mubashir Maken and Taunsa DSP Saleem Niazi.
