The joint investigation team (JIT) on Saturday continued probe into May 25 tragedy in which accused police inspector Shehzad Warraich (the then SHO of Daska City Police) gunned down two senior lawyers Rana Khalid Abbas (President Daska Bar Association) and Muhammad Irfan Chohan during a clash.

The JIT, comprising Sialkot SP (Investigations) Irfan Tariq Khan, DSP (Headquarters) Sheikh Shahid Ikram, Inspector Rana Nadeem Tariq, Inspector Rana Zulfiqar Ahmed (SHO Daska City Police) and senior officials of other agencies visited the gutted offices of the Daska DSP, TMA and residence of Assistant Commissioner, which were set ablaze by a mob including lawyers while protesting against the killing.

The JIT also recorded statements of the officials of Daska TMA and the policemen who were on the spot when the tragedy unfolded.

On the occasion, the JIT officials informed that they were tracing out the arsonists through CCTV footages.

Meanwhile, the Daska Bar Association has demanded early submission of the challan of the case in the respective court. The association has also announced to a two-hour protest at scene of the incident on daily basis till a final verdict of the case.
