Dera Ismail Khan: A woman was critically injured as opponents attacked convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader, Ali Amin Gandapur, in Dera Ismail Khan Town of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.
According to media reports Ali Amin Gandapur, who is also provincial Finance Minister, was heading somewhere i when a large number of opposition political activists, including women workers, surrounded his convoy and chanted slogans against the PTI leader.
Reports said the infuriated opponents broke windscreen of the PTI leader’s vehicle, prompting his guards to fire gun shots, leaving a lady critically injured. Police arrived at the scene and dispersed the protestors.
The attack came a day after local bodies’ elections in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ruling PTI is leading in the polls according to unofficial results, with its ally Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in second place, followed by the JUI-F that claimed its third spot in the polls.
