Optimism is a stable and strong personality trait. People unconsciously assume about reality due to high uncertainty. People are either positive (optimist) about the things or they are negative (pessimist).

Optimist leaders depict such behaviors which are imperative for successful leadership and business administration. They take things positively and failure is taken by optimist not personally but philosophically.  If leaders are optimist they succeed in managing family business much better than pessimist due to their affirmative attitude.

 Where others see despair in starting business, optimist leaders consider opportunities everywhere. They do not use any economic downturn or negative forces as an excuse for avoiding work neither consider failure a result of outside factors (macro-economic factors). Failure to them means trying a different approach to succeed in future rather than taking it personally on nerves. For an optimist failure is a way of self-correction.He feels concerned about his followers needs. They remain supporting and openly work to make others succeed in life. Such leaders are more relationship oriented where they give support to followers to succeed for the goals of organization. They are encouraging communicators. They have the tendency to build enthusiasm in followers through their speeches. Their effortless communication is the tool for painting the positive image of the world in followers’ mind.In the corporate world if the immediate supervisor has the power to communicate organization goals with his followers then only the company can seek success. Having optimist leaders is thus a blessing in disguise for corporations.

We require in our organizations a leader who can see the big picture, who can inspire their followers, clients and customers and infuse confidence in them that everything would be well at the end. Recency effect states that we as humans have the capacityto remember the most recent experiences in our lives.Optimist has the capacity to fight the recency effect as they are future thinkers. To give followers a path and prosperous destiny, optimist leaders can help people forget the most recent unfavorable events as they are looking at the great things going to happen in future. Such leaders think that things will get better because they have influencing power to make them better.

Although optimist do not take safety measure too quickly like pessimist but business down turns to them are just hurdles that can be removed through infusion of confidence in their followers. They focus on solution problems rather than analysis the issues surrounding those problems.

Optimist leaders are very blissfuland satisfied people. An example of such leader is a university professor who has the tendency to give students a path to success. He has the tendency to make students motivated for finding jobs in their own country in the economic crisis. Another quality of optimist leaders is that they share more information and knowledge thus, making the followers participative in the decision making process. By sharing more of the information they keep their followers engaged towards one vision and one mission. They lead not by force but by inspiration and motivation.
