Shutter-down strike in Quetta over Mastung incident

Quetta: A shutter-down strike was observed in the city on Sunday against Mastung incident, which left as many as 25 innocent bus passengers dead in Khadkocha area by gunmen.

The strike call was given by traders and other associations of the city. The protesters demanded immediate action against the killers.

Earlier, Chief Minister Balochsitan Abdul Maalik Baloch has on Saturday announced a strike on Sunday and a 3-day mourning over Mastung carnage.

On Sunday, all the main markets, bazaars and petrol pumps are closed whereas public transport is also sparse on the roads.

On this occasion, the national flag has been lowered to half-mast on all the government buildings in the province and federal capital.

Moreover, heavy contingent of police and Rangers’ have been deployed in the city and patrolling has been increased.

Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik said an All Parties Conference (APC) would be convened to discuss the Mastung killings and evolve a strategy against such incidents in future.
