Three jail inmates injured in Larkana

LARKANA   -  Three inmates were injured including one Ghulam Abbas Magsi when two groups of prisoners had a dispute inside Central Jail late Saturday night. He was shifted to Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) Ward of the Chandka Medical College Hospital on Sunday under police security where he was given treatment.

Wounded Magsi alleged while talking to media that inmates Iqbal Chandio and others were drinking wine inside the jail and he and others asked them to refrain from drinking as it was prohibited, but they attacked them with bricks and wooden sticks due to which he and two other prisoners have been injured. Jail Superintendent Liaquat Pirzado said that there was no truth that prisoners were drinking in the jail. He claimed that a dispute took place among drug addicts due to which one inmate had been injured for which an FIR would be registered at Waleed police station.

Meanwhile, according to reports, all is not well inside the jail as inmates are using cellular phones and using drugs freely against payment of illegal gratification and worst affected are those who come to meet their relatives and friends as they too are forced to pay or else they are kept on waiting for long in this scorching heat.
