KARACHI - The Vice President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Hayat Rana, on Thursday said that the victory of Ali Ahmed Kurd as president of SCBA had proved that the lawyers' movement was still on peak. Now the law minister Farooq Naek should quit his post after his failure to reinstate the deposed judges.      He was addressing the general body meeting of Karachi Bar Association (KBA) held at Shuhda-i-Punjab Hall of the City Court, on the eve of weekly boycott campaign on the call of All Pakistan Lawyers Representatives Council (APLRC). KBA president Mehmood-ul-Hassan, Secretary Naeem Qureshi, Salahuddin Gandapur and others also addressed on the occasion.   He criticised the Attorney General Latif Khosa and Federal Law Minister Farooq Naik and alleged that they have hatched conspiracies against the lawyers' movement. He demanded that after the victory of the supporters of the deposed judges, they must resign from their posts.    Mehmood-ul-Hassan, Naeem Qureshi and Sallahuddin Gandapor said in their addresses that the lawyers' movement would be continued till the fulfillment of their goals. They said that the ongoing movement was to be accelerated for the freedom of judiciary and reinstatement of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.      They claimed that the government had failed to sabotage the lawyers' movement adding that due to the pressure build up by the ongoing lawyers' movement, the government will forced to reappoint the deposed judges. Earlier, the lawyers observed complete boycott of the courts proceeding in the City and Malir District Courts. They also staged protest demonstration against non-reinstatement of deposed judges. They chanted pro Iftikhar Chaudhry's and anti government slogans and were demanding to restore pre-November 2, 2007, judiciary.   Following the meeting, the rally has been taken out at MA Jinnah Road where they staged sit in on the road and blocked the road for several hours. Security was tightened on the occasion.
