LAHORE-The Chaudhrys in order to appease the members of forward bloc are considering changing Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat as the PML (Q)'s Parliamentary leader in the National Assembly. The original demand of the forward bloc with Riaz Fatyana and Kashmala Tariq as its more popular and visible faces, is the change of the party's Parliamentary leader and instead bring on board a leader from smaller province to broaden representation in the lower house. These members are also trying to mobilise support in the party for change in the top party leadership. PML (Q) sources disclosed that President PML (Q) Ch. Shujaat Hussain is ready to give into the to the demands of forward bloc to the extent of change of Parliamentary leader. It is learnt that Shujaat held a meeting at his residence on Thursday evening in Islamabad with PML (Q) senior leaders in full attendance. The sole agenda of the meeting was how to calm down the forward bloc. The sources privy to the meeting disclosed that idea of change of Parliamentary leader too was floated in the meeting. Chaudhrys and their close aides believe that once their original demand is met the main trouble-makers in the bloc will have no other cause to get their acts together and muster up support from the party. The members of the forward bloc claim the support of over three dozens MNAs with them which the Chaudhrys and their supporters denied. It is also learnt that Faisal himself is not very keen to continue as Parliamentary leader and he has conveyed this to the Chaudhrys, probably prodding him to move forward with the proposal of change of Parliamentary leader.
