LAHORE - Taubert Patrcik(GER) and Roy Rupesh will vie for the top honor of ITF Pakistan Futures(F3) at the Bagh-e-Jinnah Tennis Courts here today. Unseeded Taubert Patrick of Germany made the major upset when he eliminated 4th seed Hsin Han Lee of Chinese Taipei in straight sets 6-4,6-4. Patrick built up the lead 3-1 by breaking 1st game of Lee, Lee fought back and levelled the score four-all by breaking 6th game of Taubert. Taubert won the first set at 6-4 by breaking 9th game of Lee by playing powerful strokes from the baseline. In the second set, the score reached 3-3, as both the players held their services. Taubert built up the winning lead 5-3 by braking 7th game of Lee and took the second set 6-4. The match lasted one hour and 10 minutes. Shahzad Akhtar Alvi, white badge umpire, chaired the match. In the second semi-final, Rupesh Roy of India beat Gleb Alekseenko of Ukraine in a well contested two-set match by score 6-2, 7-5. Roy started the match by breaking first game of Alekseenko and built the winning lead 4-2. Roy took the first set at 6-2 by braking 7th game of Alekseenko. Roy started the second set in the same fashion and broke the third game of Alekseenko but at that time Alekseenko played some good shorts down the line and level the score three-all by breaking fourth game of Roy. Roy was serving for the match at score 5-4 and got three match points but was unable to hold his serve and the score reached five-all. Roy won the second set by breaking 11th game of Alekseenko and took the second set at 7-5, the match lasted one hour and 20 minutes. Mr. Asif Akhtar Alvi, white badge umpire, chaired the match. The final match between Rupesh Roy and Patrick Taubert will be played today at 2-30 pm. Ropesh Roy (LND) and Hyun Soo Lim (KOR) annexed the men's doubles final by beating Aqeel Khan of Pakistan pairing with Sunil Kumar Sipaeya from India three sets 6-7(5), 6-4 and 10-6. Aqeel and Sunil won the first set in the tie break at 7-5. In the second set Aqeel and Sunil were leading 4-2 by breaking 15t game of Roy but Roy and Lim fought back and won the second set at 6-4 by braking 8th and 10th game of Sunil and Aqeel respectively. The match was decided in the super tie break set in which Roy and Lim won by 10 -6 point and won the title.
