ISLAMABAD - The Out Door Patients Department of Federal Government Services Hospital (FGSH) known as Polyclinic Hospital remained closed on Thursday after the hospital administration received a bomb hoax call warning to blow the hospital building up. Around 11:30 in morning an unidentified call was received by Polyclinic administration warning of a bomb blast in the hospital. All the staff and patients even those in critical condition were brought outside on the road as the hospital administration was left with no option but to vacate the building. Although the emergency department services were resumed again when the hospital was announced clear but due to the fear, the OPD was closed down for the rest of the day that created many hardships for the patients. Fear and panic gripped every one in the hospital while shouting and running from here and there to save his or her life, informed an eyewitness who was inside hospital for her routine medical checkup. On receiving the bomb hoax call, the hospital administration informed the law enforcement agencies, police and fire brigade who reached on the spot and after through search of more than two hour by the bomb disposal squad team, the hospital building was declared safe. It is pertinent to mention here that after the deadly suicides attack on Marriott hotel, an endless series of hoax calls have started pouring in all over the country especially in the Federal Capital, but it was for the first time that the anti-social elements made hoax call to a hospital. However the residents of surrounding areas helped the poor patients and accommodated them temporarily in their houses until the hospital was thoroughly searched and declared safe. The hospital administration has been provided police security till Friday and security arrangements at all entry and exit gates of the hospital were further tightened.     APP adds:- Rescue 1122 sources said they have received information about a bomb at PIMS hospital and rushed ambulances to the site. Earlier, bomb disposal squad was busy in searching a bomb in the Polyclinic hospital following a call from unknown persons. Rescue 15 sources told APP that they had rushed Bomb Disposal Squad and other security officials at the site soon after receiving the emergency call while CDA and Rescue 1122 ambulances were also present at the site searching the bomb.
