Zardari offers 'Q' lucrative portfolios

ISLAMABAD - A large number of Senators and MNAs former ruling party PML-Q on Thursday dined with President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed with him political issues including possibility of their joining PPP-led ruling coalition as a separate political entity. However, both the PPP and the Presidency officials denied the occurrence of any such meeting. According to well-placed sources, the President offered them lucrative portfolios in the federal cabinet in the forthcoming cabinet expansion in case they decide to join the coalition government. Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, they all promised not to talk to the media over the issue, the sources added. According to the sources, the meeting of the forward bloc with the President has perturbed the PML-Q leadership Ch Shujaat and others that addressed the same press conference. However, President's Spokesman Farhatullah Babar said that there was no such meeting of PML-Q forward bloc with the President. He added that the meting was not scheduled in the programme of President.
