JALALABAD (AFP) - A roadside bomb struck a station wagon in Afghanistan on Friday, killing eight civilians, including a woman, a provincial government spokesman said. The vehicle was travelling through the Khwarano area of Khogyani district in eastern Nangarhar province, which shares a long porous border with Pakistan. Eight civilians, including one woman, were killed in the roadside bomb explosion, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the provincial governors office, told AFP. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but Taliban insurgents who are waging a bloody campaign against Western forces in Afghanistan frequently plant similar explosives along main roads.
