Eight killed, 4 hurt in mishaps, violence

WAZIRABAD/MAILSI/TOBA TEK SINGH - Eight people including a minor girl were killed and four others injured in separate incidents and mishaps in Wazirabad, Mailsi and Toba Tek Singh here the other day.
According to details, three friends namely 17-year-old Waqas, son of Muhammad Ashraf, 17-year-old Sheharyar, son of Muhammad Gulzar, residents of village Rakh Bhorki (presently residing in RHC Colony Dhaunkal) and 16-year-old Afzaal, son of Muhammad Aslam, a resident of Gujranwala were on the way to Wazirabad on a motorcycle GAN-9638. Meanwhile, the motorcycle went out of control due to speeding and hit the road divider opposite Umar Marriage Hall. In the meanwhile a speeding car crushed them badly, killing Waqas, who was riding the bike instantly while Afzaal succumbed to his injuries on the way to General Hospital Lahore from THQ Hospital Wazirabad. While legs of fractured and was also shifted to Lahore.
In second accident two cars collided headlong on Ahmad Nagar Road at Phaloki Chowk, killing a minor girl Noor Fatima, daughter of Mustansar Cheema on the spot while three others from both cars injured. The Saddr Police registered cases accordingly.

As per detail, deceased Muhammad Ramzan and Farzand Ali Gujjar of village Chak 674/15 GB were going to village from Pirmahal on a motorcycle. When they reached near bus stop, a speeding Multan-bound bus coming from Faisalabad ran over the bike, killing them on the spot. Following the incident, dozens of villagers staged a demonstration against the killings. However, later DSP Akbar Ali Niazi and Pirmahal Police SHO Ilyas Jatt held talks with the protesters and assured that speed bumps will be constructed at the stop to minimize accidents.
Meanwhile, an elderly shopkeeper Faqeer Hussain of Kamal Chowk, who had sustained severe burns during a quarrel, breathed his last in DHQ hospital on Tuesday.
Deceased Faqeer and his neighbor shop owner Samar Abbas of Bakhshi park had quarreled over cleanliness issue and during the spate Samar threw boiled oil he used for preparing samosas on Faqeer. When his four sons Rashid, Shafiq, Shabbir and Asif saw that their father had been severely burnt with boiling oil, they attacked Samar Abbas with sharp knives as a result he had died in hospital.
