A delegation of Pakistan Muslim League (LM) called on PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif at his residence in Riawind here in Lahore on Wednesday and discussed ways to enter into an election alliance.

The PML-LM delegation comprised of Ch Hamid Nasir Chatta, Saleem Saifullah Khan and Humayun Akhtar while Mian Nawaz Sharif was joined by Shahbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Pervez Rashid.

According to sources, during the meeting, they discussed their political strategy for the next general elections. Both sides agreed to make joint political strategy for giving tough time to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party in upcoming general elections. 

Sources said that during the meeting, the leadership of the two parties agreed that they would meet other Leaguers for making alliance for upcoming polls.

Seats adjustment between PML-N and like minded for the general polls came under discussion during the meeting.

The sources said during the meeting, the two groups agreed that their parties would jointly give strong resistance inside and outside parliament to the government if it tried to delay the general polls in the country.

In the meeting Nawaz Sharif expressed his confidence that due to misguided policies of the government, people of the country would reject PPP and its allies in upcoming general elections and they would repose their trust in the Muslim League.

He said that they were not contesting elections for purpose of gaining power but save the country and his party was ready to render sacrifices in this regard.

Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N could take back all those Muslim leaguers who would agree on ideology of his party.

He said that they would contact other political parties including opposition for making joint political strategy for general elections.
