LAHORE - Minister of State for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has said that the government would not allow increase in prices of life saving drugs.
Addressing the inaugural session of three-day International Pharmacists Conference and Exhibition on “Role of Pharmacists in Health System Strengthening” and talking to the media at a local hotel on Wednesday, she contradicted the reports of 18 per cent increase in the prices of drugs.
Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA) organised the conference participated by renowned pharmacists, manufacturers, pharmacy students of various Universities and office bearers of PPA. The experts will conduct 85 professional presentations during three days of the conference. 
Saira Afzal Tarar admitted that majority of private medical colleges were not imparting quality education. She said that the government had constituted a committee comprising senior professors from all the provinces to submit proposals for better function of the PMDC.
She said that the committee would submit its report till the end of November. She said that the government would facilitate and encourage health experts working abroad so that they could serve in Pakistan.
