Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Wahiduddin has pledged to soon establish hostels for working women in Sialkot district, and has said that the work on this project would be started soon.

There no hostel for the working women in Sialkot district. The minister was addressing the participants of a seminar on ‘Women Development’ held at Govt Allama Iqbal College for Women.

The provincial minister said that no nation could develop with giving the basic rights to the women and the active participation of women in every sphere of life and national development. She said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had already established  a separate ministry for women development and raising awareness about the rights and responsibilities of the women in national development in the Punjab, besides, increasing the quota of the women in government jobs from  5 percent to 15 percent.

She added that the PML-N government was making sincere efforts to ensure early participation of the women in every segment of life, besides, providing better and conducive environment to the women, which would definitely end the sensation of unsafe among the women in the society especially at their work places and even at their homes.

She revealed that Punjab government has yet established hostels for the working women in 16 districts of the Punjab and now its turn of Sialkot district to have the working women’s hostel. MPAs Shabeena Zakarya Wayne, Mrs. Shujaat Ali Pasha and College Principal Talat Imtnan Cheema also addressed the seminar.
