Parties issue gag orders

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI - PTI’s rival parties have barred their leaders from commenting on the divorce of Imran Khan and Reham Khan.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif barred all PML-N leaders from giving any comment or controversial statement on the divorce issue of Imran and Reham. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari directed all party leaders and workers to refrain from commenting on anybody’s personal matters. He passed these directives after noticing personal comments on the divorce of Imran Khan. “We are harbingers of our rich traditions and dignity. We represent every segment of society.
We respect individual’s privacy. Hence we should not indulge in things, which don’t suit our morals and ethics,” he exhorted Party leaders and workers. However, earlier PPP leaders Syeda Shehla Raza and Nisar Khuhro mocked Imran Khan and Reham after the news of their divorce surfaced.
MQM’s deputy convener Nadeem Nusrat said MQM chief Altaf Hussain terming PTI Chairman and Reham divorce a personal matter directed party leaders and workers to refrain from commenting on the issue. In a statement in Karachi, Nusrat said that parties should demonstrate mature politics. He said that Imran-Reham divorce is a personal matter and that they should avoid commenting on this matter. On the other hand, Imran Khan in a statement issued by PTI Central Secretariat also barred all party leaders and workers from discussing this issue at all levels and forums.–Staff Reporters
