LAHORE - Radio and television broadcaster Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti’s 23rd death anniversary was observed on Monday.
He was born on 30 November 1948 and started his career as an English teacher. He worked as a professor at several colleges and then he started acting for the television and stage in the 1970s. His TV shows from 1974 to 1994 include “Takra” in Punjabi language, “Yadish Bakhair”, "Jawan Fikar", “Mela” and more. He also published books such as Aamna Samna, Dildarian and Dilbar Dildar.
Provincial Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Khalil Tahir Sandhu said in a statement that Dildar Pervaiz Bhatti was a famous Pakistani television and radio host/anchor. He said that Bhatti worked for Radio Pakistan and PTV and won many awards for his amazing comparing on TV and stage.
The minister said that Bhatti had been associated with fundraising for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in 1994. He attended several fundraising events in the UK, Canada and the US for the cancer hospital. On October 30, Bhatti died from brain haemorrhage soon after performing at an event in New York. The minister said that Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre had named a ward after Bhatti in recognition of his services.
