LAHORE - A man shot his wife dead on the road in Shahdara and fled, police said on Monday.
Police identified the deceased as Yasmeen, mother of three. Her husband Khalid fled after the shooting. Some relatives told the police that the couple used to fight over domestic issues.
On the day of incident, Khalid took his wife to a market for shopping but stopped on the way at a deserted place. He took out a pistol and shot his wife. Later, he contacted his father-in-law by phone and disclosed the incident. Police shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy. The police registered a murder case against Khalid on the complaint of father of the woman and launched an investigation with no arrest made yet.
RS1.2M ROBBERY
Two motorcyclists held up a shopkeeper at gunpoint on the main Sanda Road and snatched Rs1.2 million from him, police sources said on Monday.
A resident of Hakeeman Wala Bazaar, Muhammad Ilyas, was going to deposit cash in a bank when two motorcyclists intercepted him near Atif Chowk on Monday morning.
The victim told the police that both motorcyclists were wearing masks. The shopkeeper was carrying Rs1.2 million in an envelope when he was stopped by the robbers at gunpoint on a busy road. The police were investigating the incident.
INDIAN NATIONAL DIES
A 30-year-old Indian national died under mysterious circumstances at his relatives’ house in Lahore on Monday, Lower Mall police said. A resident of Delhi, Sohail Ahmed arrived in Lahore a couple of days ago to see his relatives in Malik Park. According to his relatives, Ahmad suffered a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a hospital soon after his condition got deteriorated late Sunday night. He died at the hospital later. The police also notified the family of the deceased after shifting the body to Mayo Hospital’s morgue.

Punjab SSP Traffic Police (Headquarters) Sarfraz Ahmad Falki was transferred and posted Multan City Police Officer. The provincial government issued a notification in this regard on Monday. Multan SSP Regional Investigation Branch Muhammad Saleem was relieved of the additional charge of the post.
