Islamabad - The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is all set to further extend the Kachnar Park located in sector I-8, said the CDA officials on Monday.

Estimated cost to be incurred on the project is Rs9.512 million. Tender notice in this regard has been floated and work on the extension of the Park would start soon after completion of codal formalities. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views while chairing a meeting held at CDA headquarters. The meeting reviewed the new initiatives taken by Environment Wing of MCI to improve over all environment of the city in general and extension in existing facilities in particular. The meeting was attended by senior officer of Environment Wing and other concerned formations of CDA and MCI .

The Mayor said that MCI is acting upon a comprehensive strategy, under that city is being beautified and facilities are being provided in accordance with needs of the locality.

Kachnar Park is one of the prominent features the capital city and due to its closeness to the nature, hundreds of visitors daily visit this park . He said that extension of this park was a longstanding demand of the residents of the area as vacant land was also available to serve the purpose. He said that parks and recreational places provide an opportunity to explore nature and leave healthy impact on human life, therefore, efforts are underway to enhance green character of Islamabad.

On this occasion, meeting was apprised that under this project, jogging track of the park would be further extended up to 3200 feet, while construction of footpaths, sit outs, installation of benches and dust bins, provision of proper lighting system, erection of fence, maintenance of washrooms and installation of state-of-the-art canopy to facilitate the visitors has also been planned.

Furthermore, the Mayor said that unauthorised constructions in sector E-11 would not be tolerated. Stern action would be taken against the violators to curtail haphazard construction in the surroundings of the city. Comprehensive strategy in this regard has been evolved so that master plan of the city could be implemented in its true sense. In order to enforce CDA laws, concrete steps would be taken to regulate illegal construction in sector E-11, he added.

Accordingly, CDA has issued a list of illegal commercial/residential apartments located in sector E-11 Islamabad which are being run without approval of the Authority.  According to public notice, the projects which have been constructed without approval of CDA include Venus Carpets Show Room, Sara Saleem Boutique, N.M Furniture, Dutal Store, One Dollar Shop Carwash, we play, Nandara Cosine, Khudadad Heights, Mahnoor Residencia Apartments, Margalla Veiw Points, Mehran Complex, Islamabad heights Apartments, Margalla views Heights Apartments, Capital Resorts Apartments, Punjab Traders, Margalla Hills, Khan Apartments, Abdullah Heights, Ahad heights, Al-Sahib Heights Apartements, Sultan Khan heights, Tuba heights, Prime Heights, Prime Apartments, Qurtaba Heights, Al-Hareem Heights, Margalla heights, Islamabad Heights, Alfalah Manzal, Emlad heights, Hazaifa Apartments, Capital Residencia, Al-Roaz Academy, Al-Hameed Apartments, Al-Hameed apartments, Al-Falah Manzil, Fortune Regency, Meridian heights, Alfoz Acdmi, Applo Tower, UN Heights, Khattak Heights, Malik House, Mustafa Qartaba Heights, Margalla Tower, Islamabad Square, Alharm, Arshak Khan, Islamabad Height, MN Heights, Fortune Heights, Alfallah Height, Urzma Plaza, Babar Khan Tower, Babar Khan Tower, Asghar Khan Tower, Javeed Khan Tower, Asad Khan tower, Mehran Complex, Makkah Tower, Mahnoor Tower, Islamabad View Height, Saheen Apartments, Margalla View Heights and Nilam Heights.

CDA has warned sponsors of all such projects to stop development work immediately and submit requisite documents permissible under rules and regulations to obtain formal approval/NOC from CDA, failing which illegal action will be taken by the Authority. CDA has also warned general public in their own interest to refrain from sale/purchase in any projects of sector E-11 without prior verification from CDA.
