PESHAWAR - Death toll of Peshawar tragedy rose to 148 as another 9th class student succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital on Friday.

The death toll of martyred Peshawar’s schoolchildren has risen to 133.

Another 76 students are still under treatment at Combinied Military Hospital (CMH) and Lady Reading Hospital.

Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Jamil Shah informed that 15 injured of Army Public School tragedy are still under treatment at the hospital, which included 15 in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Ward, CTW Ward 2, CT ICU 2, CVW Ward-1, CT ICU-2, Orthopaedic 5 and PAED Surgery Ward 1.

A total of 60 patients are still being treated in CMH where Adnan Hussain son of Muhammad Hussain breathed his last early on Friday. His funeral prayer was offered at his ancestral village and attended by a large number of people, teachers, politicians and his student fellows. In the meanwhile, scores of people including women and children along family members of the students visited Army Public School on Friday, paying homage to the martyred students who lay their lives to keep candle of education alive.

Keeping flowers and candles in their hands, families of the martyred students showed the resolve that they would not stop their children from school and they would defeat terrorism through their strong belief.

On December 16, some armed terrorists hit in the heart of Cantonment when they managed to enter Army Public School and started brutal killing of the students and teachers.
