Rawalpindi - Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 has started school safety campaign on emergency basis.

The campaign was started upon directions of Director General PES Dr Rizwan Naseer, informed Rescue 1122 spokesman here on Saturday.

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif approved school safety campaign and appreciated the efforts of Rescue 1122 in standardising the school safety training material in consultation with all the district emergency officers (DEOs) from all districts of Punjab for training of school safety wardens on standardised format, he added.

In this regard Executive District Officer (Education) Rawalpindi has been coordinated by Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi and decided to train safety wardens from all schools.

He said that the trained team of Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi and Murree consisting of 30 trainers under supervision of Deeba Shahnaz, emergency officer headquarters, are imparting training to  over 167 safety warden (teachers) nominated by the EDO (education) Rawalpindi.

Speaking on the occasion, District Emergency Officer Dr Abdul Rahman said the emergency service will provide all possible support to make school safety campaign successful and safety wardens will be trained on standardise training material. Moreover trained safety wardens will be provided training material to further trainings and drills in their schools.

Deeba Shahnaz briefed to teachers that safety warden will be trained with the help of lectures, presentations, practical demonstrations and practice of life saving skills followed by Emergency Evacuation drill. Furthermore all participants of training will be evaluated through written and practical evaluation process and the successful candidates will be certified to conduct further emergency management trainings, evacuation drills for teacher and students in their respective schools to promote school safety culture. The detail report of activities along pictorial record will be present to Rescue 1122 headquarters as per directions of the director general.
