Summer vacations in schools start from 6th

Islamabad - The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Wednesday notified that summer vacations in schools and colleges of the federal capital would start from June 6 and end on August 9.
Classes will resume from August 10 (Monday) in all public schools of Islamabad Capital Territory.
Earlier, the FDE had announced that summer vacations would commence from June 11 with a little delay owing to Quaid-i-Azam Inter-Provincial Games as around 15,000 students were supposed to participate in the inaugural ceremony of the games from June 9 to 12 at the Sports Complex. As Pakistan Sports Board has cancelled the games indefinitely due to hot weather conditions, the breaks would start as per academic calendar from June 6, said the officials.
Meanwhile, Barrister Usman Ibrahim, minister of state for capital administration & development division, has directed the concerned officials to ensure the completion of the syllabus under the new five working days week in government educational institutions of Islamabad.
The minister directed to increase the daily study hours to compensate for additional holiday. In compliance with the orders of the minister, the numbers of periods have been increased from seven to eight per day, so that the weekly target of 40 hours of study could be met under the new setup. The Minister directed in this regard to ensure syllabus completion by strict compliance of the orders.
