Altaf faces another case
Rawalpindi - Police booked MQM Chief Altaf Hussain on a complaint of a citizen who sought legal action against the politician over delivering hate speech against Pakistan Army and Rangers, sources disclosed to The Nation on Wednesday.
According to sources, a citizen namely Rana Riaz Ahmed, son of Rana Tanveer of Chungi Number 22, appeared before Police Station RA Bazaar and submitted an application stating that MQM leader Altaf Hussain used abusive language against Pakistan Army and Rangers. He added that the comments of Altaf Hussain hurt his sentiments and a case should be registered against the political leader. Taking action, PS RA Bazaar SHO Jahangir Bhatti registered the FIR number 271/15 against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain under sections PPC 123-A/124-A and 121/121-A. Background interviews with some lawyers revealed that the sections police inserted in the FIR are carrying death sentence.
Meanwhile, another citizen namely Ahsan Qadir Advocate submitted written application with PS Civil Line for registration of first information report (FIR) against the MQM Chief Altaf Hussain against his speech in which he spewed venom against armed forces. However, police filed no case till filing of this report.
SSP (Operations) Karamat Ullah Malik, while talking to The Nation, said that people in big numbers have been filing written complaints against Altaf Hussain in various police stations. He said that cases would be registered against the politician.
