Govt not serious in holding elections
LAHORE - Stressing the need for a grand alliance of the Opposition parties ahead of the upcoming polls, the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) chief Talal Akbar Bugti on Sunday said that the government did not seem serious in holding the elections on time. He also said that PPP and its allies had become a threat to democracy and solidarity of the country and hence a grand Opposition’s alliance had become all the more essential to save the country from a bigger disaster. Talking to media persons on his arrival in Lahore, Talal said that PPP was not serious in holding of free, fair and transparent elections, adding, that people will not vote for it no matter who they brought forward in the election arena. The JWP chief thought that PPP and its allies were watching their personal interests rather than advancing the national agenda. Talal Bugti is likely to meet PML-N President Mian Nawaz Sharif during his stay in the City.
