Schools, colleges’ security beefed up

KHANEWAL - After the Peshawar incident, the Punjab government has immediate taken measures in order to ensure security at public schools across the province.
In this connection, the district administration called a meeting with the management of the schools and colleges here the other day. The District Police finalised a security plan for educational institutions in the district and asked schools administrations to make security arrangements in two weeks or they would not be allowed to open campuses.
The DPO unveiled the plan during meeting of officials where foolproof security plans for schools, colleges of the city were discussed. The DPO disclosed that Khanewal City School and APS Abdul Hakim were under threat.  According to the security plan revealed by the DPO, the school administrations should establish vintage points, install surveillance cameras, erect boundary walls to a reasonable height and ensure the deployment of security guards on their campuses.
