Students, parents decry lack of teaching staff

Students of Government Girls Colleges - Ranpur Baghoor and Noorpur Thal have demanded the government and the authorities concerned of the Education Department to appoint lecturers and professors for the intermediate and degree classes in both the colleges forthwith.
Talking to media persons, the students and their parents informed that many posts of lecturers of different subjects had been lying vacant in the colleges for the last eight years. “We want our children to get higher education in our own area but it seems the issue is not among the priorities of the successive government and local political leaders”, social workers - Sammer Sultan and Nazakt Ali regretted.
They added that due to unavailability of teaching staff and others facilities at these colleges, hundreds of students of Thal had been effected. The students said that several sanctioned posts of teaching staff had also been lying vacant. Raja Tariq Masood, a resident of Jamali area, said that the degree colleges of Thal were being run with sanctioned posts for the intermediate level which was even insufficient for the intermediate classes. Social workers - Malik Hameed Ullah, Advocate Malik Mushtaq Hussain Borana and Advocate Raja Muhammad Ashraf Hayat deplored that the government and authorities concerned had been unmoved for the last eight years and did not show interest in the appointment of teaching staff in these colleges.
FAREWELL PARTY: Khushab DCO Amir Ejaz Akbar hosted a farewell party in honour of Noorpur Thal Assistant Commissioner (AC) Ch Ahsan Ullah on his transfer. Speaking on the occasion, the DCO lauded the services of the AC, stating that Ch Ahsan Ullah had become a role model for the administration because he played an important role for the betterment of inhabitant of Thal. The DCO presented a shield to the outgoing AC over his best performance. A large number of officers belonging to different departments also attended the event.
