LAHORE - College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has launched Advance Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) course after ATLS, BLS, ACLS and PALS. Pakistan is amongst the pioneers in sub-continent to conduct ALSO like ATLS.
In first phase, ALSO was conducted at CPSP Karachi under the direct supervision of American instructors Prof Duncan Atches, Dr Gregory Reglow, and Dr Ashroon Nagji who trained fifty five professors during the course. The first ALSO course at CPSP Regional Center, Lahore, will be inaugurated by Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, President, CPSP along with Prof Rakhshanda Rehman on Tuesday (today). The course will be attended by 48 senior professors. This course will be arranged at all Regional Centers.
Elected
Head of Urology Department, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Prof Mumtaz Ahmed has been elected as President Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons. Dr Muzammal Tahir, from Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore has been elected General Secretary.
Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Lahore General Hospital Prof Anjum Habib Vohra has congratulated both the office-bearers of the association and expressed the hope that new leadership would make all out efforts to improve treatment facilities and for the welfare of urological surgeons.
