RAWALPINDI - Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan threatened to attack Wah Medical College in the coming days, reliable sources disclosed to The Nation yesterday. After the fresh threats by militants, the police and other law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) beefed up security around the WMC as well as other educational institutions and sensitive installations in the district to protect the lives and property, the sources said. The threats came after militants’ brazen armed attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, claiming lives of 20 students, they added.

Meanwhile, the district government decided to seal all the educational institutional which failed in making proper security arrangements to protect the students. In this regard, a high-level meeting was held here. The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja, City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, District Coordination Officer Sajid Zafar Dall and others. During the meeting it was decided that managements of all the educational institutions would be issued notices directing them to enhance security. In the second phase, all the schools and colleges having feeble security arrangements will be sealed.
