Work on development projects for South Punjab to start soon

Bahawalpur    -  A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning and Development South Punjab Shoaib Iqbal Syed with reference to the Annual Development Programme for the year 2021-22 in Planning and Development Department South Punjab. 

The meeting was attended by Deputy Directors Development from different districts of South Punjab.  The meeting was informed that the Punjab government has presented an annual budget of Rs 560 billion for the current financial year 2021-22 and in this budget for the first time in history a huge amount has been allocated for South Punjab which is 35pc of the total budget ie Rs 189 billion. 

The meeting was further informed that a separate book of development budget has been published for South Punjab so that the funds allocated for South Punjab could be spent in the same region.  

The Secretary Planning and Development South Punjab informed the meeting that the biggest challenge for the implementation of this historic budget was timely approval of 1700 new development schemes. He further said that in this regard Deputy Directors Development has been nominated as focal persons in the respective districts. They been directed to hold weekly meetings with all the departments so that the obstacles in the way of approval of development schemes can be removed in time and work on development projects can start as soon as possible.  

Planning and Development Dept South Punjab directed that implementation of timelines given in this regard be ensured so that the people can benefit from the fruits of the projects in a timely manner.

Blind man complains to DPO about his son

A blind man eached an open court of DPO with a complaint against his disobedient son. The DPO listened to the blind man and ordered the SHO to take immediate action under the Protection of Parents Ordinance 2021. SHO registered a case and arrested the accused. Legal proceedings were initiated on the petitions received under this ordinance.

According to details, under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar and the open door policy of IG Punjab Inam Ghani, a blind man heard the positive response of DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran on a daily basis and immediately reached an open court. As soon as he reached the spot, DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran stopped the normal operation and gave water to the blind man and inquired about his well-being,

The blind man introduced himself by the name of Nazir Ahmed and said that his insulted him and pushed him out of the house. DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran assured him of action and ordered SHO Saddar Bahawalpur Police Station to take immediate action against the son of a blind man under The Protection of Parents Ordinance 2021, on which SHO Saddar Bahawalpur Police Station registered a case.
