PML-N made no contact over new alliance: MQM

LAHORE - The MQM has so far not received any formal request from the PML-N to join the purposed opposition alliance, MQM deputy parliamentary leader Haider Abbas Rizvi has said on Sunday. Haider, in a special talk with Waqt News, said that his party being a political entity was keeping all options open; however, there were many issues that require intensive contemplation before they join any such alliance. He said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement seeks good relations with all the other political parties of the country. We just heard about the grand alliance in the media but no formal contact has taken place in this regard, he added. He said the political parties always maintain contacts in a general sense, but if there is any development regarding formation or joining of an alliance, the MQM would share it with the media as, he said, his party doesnt hide any thing from the public. Abbas said there are many big players in the opposition and MQM was one of them but it would be premature to say something definite about MQMs joining any such anti-government coalition. We will have to consider the present situation and think over it, and then make some projections about the consequences of such a decision, he added.
