KHYBER AGENCY - A man was injured when an improvised explosive device went off in Landi Kotal on Friday morning.
The IED was planted in Ranger street car parking of Landi Kotal Bazaar. Landi Kotal Assistant Political Agent (APA) Niaz Muhammad said that the heavy intensity bomb was placed to the boundary wall of the parking that exploded with a big bang, injuring a local passerby.
The injured man has been identified as Muhammad Rehman s/o Noor Muhammad, a resident of Piro Khel.
He was taken to Landi Kotal hospital for medical aid where his condition was stated to be stable, the doctor said.
According to details, four vehicles parked in the lot were also got damaged in the blast. Immediately after the blast, security agencies personnel moved to the spot and cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the site for investigation, a Khasadar force official told.
The law enforcement officers launched a search operation in the Bazaar and arrested five persons.
The arrested persons have been shifted to an unidentified location for further interrogation.
