LAHORE: Khadim Rizvi faction of Tehreek Labiak Ya Rasool Allah is all set to hold Lahore to Islamabad long march on Monday with six points of demand.

Their demands include government to end restrictions on registration of FIR under 295/C, hang all culprits involved in blasphemy, take action against those involved in amending affidavit of Khatme Nabowat, abolish loudspeaker act, end-all cases against leaders and workers of Tehreek and include Islamic teachings in the curriculum which were previously excluded.

Pir Ijaz Ashrafi, the spokesperson for the Tehreek, said thousands of people will participate in the long march from across the country and they will hold a sit-in in the federal capital until their demands were addressed. He said their sit-in will continue until the six demands were met.

The Tehreek’s faction of Khadim Rizvi dissociated itself from Dr Asif Ashraf Jalali’s Tehreek Labiak Ya Rasool Allah which ended its six-day sit-in in Lahore and Islamabad on Sunday. Dr Asif led the rally in Islamabad on Tuesday but it failed to get the attraction of the government due to the thin participation of people.

Pir Ijaz claimed: “Their movement is the real movement and Dr Asif has nothing to do with Tehreek Labaik Ya Rasool Allah. You will witness participation of thousands in our long march .”

Threek Ya Rasool Allah of Allama Khadim Rizvi is registered with Election Commission of Pakistan with name Tehreek Labiak Pakistan while Dr Asif’s group calls its political wing as Tehreek Labaik Al-aalmi.

Monday’s long march will start at 10 am from Lahore and leave Gujrat on Tuesday after holding a mass meeting at city’s GTS chowk.
