ISE stays bearish

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Islamabad Stock Exchange on Wednesday witnessed bearish trend as the ISE 10-index shed 13.45 points to close at 2554.21 points. Stock Analyst, Ismail Iqbal Pvt Ltd, Sadiq told APP that due to the negative sentiments, the local markets remained range-bound. He said that the volume in the market was very low because of the absence of majority investors but those who had come preferred to sell on the strength rather than taking positions. Stock Analyst, First National Equity Pvt Ltd, M.M Hassan said that despite low attendance of investors in the market, the majority of investors took positions on the selected counters on the lower level of index. He said that the Oil and Gas Development Corporation (OGDC) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) remained favourite scrips in the local bourse. Total volume of shares traded was 43,480, which was down by 29,530. Lotta PTA Pakistan, Sui Northern Gas Pvt Ltd (SNGPL) and Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL) remained volume leaders on Wednesday, with volumes of 17,000, 15,000 and 4,000 shares respectively.
