B’pur land to get 1.53m saplings

Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Asadullah Khan inaugurated the spring plantation campaign by planting a sapling at the garden of his office.
During the campaign, 1,530,000 plants are likely to be planted under supervision of Department of Forestry and district administration, he said. The commissioner noted that to keep the environment clean and free from pollution, more and more plants should be planted and special care needs to be taken of the plants. He directed the officials and staff concerned to achieve the 100% target of spring plantation campaign.
Forests Conservator Liaquat Salehri said that during the plantation campaign, 1.530 million saplings would be planted through Forest Department from which 745,000 plants will be planted by Punjab Forest Department. He said that it would plant 310,000 saplings in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar and Laal Sohanra.
Other departments would plant 60,000, Defense Department 75,000 plants while 300,000 plants will be planted at private lands. Similarly, the district administration will plant 610,000 saplings in Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar Districts, other departments will plant 20,000 plants, Defense departments will plant 150,000 and 650,000 plants will be planted on the private lands
