LAHORE - The Punjab government on Friday promoted 22 associate professors of the education department in the general cadre of the Collegiate Branch on regular basis to the rank of professor Grade-20, and quite a few of them have been posted against various capacities, but most of them will continue against their present slots till further orders. According to details, Muhammad Zahid Butt, Associate Professor of Zoology, Government Shalimar College, Lahore, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Zoology and allowed to continue at his present place of posting as Principal, against an existing vacancy. Ali Zaheer Minhas, Associate Professor of Urdu, Government Islamia College, Civil Lines, Lahore, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Urdu and allowed to continue at his present assignment, against an upgraded post. Fazal Mahmood, Associate Professor of Physics, Government College of Science, Wahdat Road, Lahore, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Physics and allowed to continue at his present assignment, against an upgraded post. Mirza Athar Baig, Associate Professor of Philosophy, Government College University, Lahore, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Philosophy and his services are placed at the disposal of University of Education, Lahore for further adjustment as Professor of Philosophy. Muhammad Arif, Associate Professor of Political Science / Principal, Govt. College, Bhalwal, District Sargodha, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Political Science, and posted as Professor of Political Science, Government College, Talagang, District Chakwal, against an existing vacancy. Muhammad Tahir Yaqub, Associate Professor of Physics/ Principal, Govt. College, Bhakkar, has been promoted to the rank of Professor of Physics, and allowed to continue at his present assignment against an upgraded post.
