Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen has resigned as General Secretary of the party today.
After meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Tareen resigned stating that he is proud of his political career and PTI.

"I and Imran Khan faced strict accountability and both remained successful as I was disqualified on technical basis," he said.
Tareen thanked party leaders and workers for their support. "I hope Imran Khan will accept my resignation," he said.
Tareen further said that he is proud of being part of the struggle and he is hopeful to see Imran Khan as next prime minister of Pakistan.
