Book fair attracts large visitors

KARACHI - Massive turnout was witnessed on the fourth day of the 12th Karachi International Book Fair as hundreds of people took advantage of the holiday and came out to visit the event at Expo Centre Karachi.

The organizers of the event Pakistan Book Sellers and Publishers Association members said that large number of the people on Sunday visited the book fair and approximately 0.2million books has been sold far. They said that students of the various schools, colleges and universities made their visit at Expo to buy the books placed on various stalls on the discounted rates.

At the event the visitors went to various stalls in the fair and took interest in the books displayed. Parents also applauded the efforts of the event organizers and said that they wait for this event whole year to get their favorite books on discounted rates. The visitors said the discounted book rates in the event had forced us to come while they waited for the event throughout the year.

On the day, MQM-Pakistan Farooq Sattar and Khawaja Izahar ul Hassan also visited the Book Fair. Talking to the media men Sattar said that holding of such big event confirms that the residence of the city have keen interest in books. MQM-P leader said that it is good sign that opportunity has been provided to the parents to bring their children close to book.

 On the occasion, Sattar along with Izhar also visited various stalls.
