Mall management asked to vacate CDA land

Islamabad - The Capital Development Authority has asked the management of a city shopping mall to vacate CDA’s land at the earliest.
The enforcement directorate of the CDA sent a notice to the owners of SAFA Gold Mall, F-7 Markaz (Jinnah Super Market), for vacating the land over which it had placed machinery including generators and cooling towers. The management of the mall had covered a nullah adjacent to its premises to place generator and cooling system over there.
However, in response to the CDA notice, the mall’s management has sought time for removal of the same from the CDA land. “We are in process of discussion with our engineers and architects to know the possibility of shifting our maximum equipment on rooftop of SAFA Mall. Therefore, we request you to please hold any kind of activity which include removal of machinery from that piece of land,” said a letter written by the director operations of the mall to the CDA.
Furthermore, it has sought retention of the said piece of land from the CDA on rent basis. “Since we have covered the nullah at our own and spent huge amount on this project, of course with the permission of CDA, therefore we consider it appropriate to get this unused piece of land from CDA on rent,” the letter requested.
