Terrorist attacks will not be tolerated: Army Chief

Chief ofArmy Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif has reiterated full support to the government led ongoing peace process but emphasised that terrorist attacks would not be tolerated and will be responded to effectively.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Sharif visited the Corps Headquarters in Peshawar on Saturday. According to an ISPR press release, COAS laid a wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada upon his arrival and paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defence of the motherland. The army chief was also briefed in detail at the Corps Headquarters about various operation, training and administrative matters.
The COAS appreciated the resolve displayed by the officers and men during the fight against terrorism and bringing stability to the militancy hit areas.
Appreciating the infrastructure building and reconstruction work being undertaken by the Army for socio-economic benefit of the local population of FATA and Malakand, COAS instructed all concerned to ensure quality and timely completion of these projects.
Earlier, on his arrival in Peshawar, COAS was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani.
