PESHAWAR (APP) - Nowshera shocked Peshawar by 169 runs in the Regional Senior Inter-District Cricket Championship here at Gymkhana ground on Sunday. Peshawar skipper won the toss and invited Nowshera to bat first. Nowshera while batting first setup only 197 runs target for the loss of all wickets after playing 54.2 overs. Middle order Akbar Badshah hammered a cracking knock of 89 runs off 149 balls with 12 boundaries. Tariq Khan (34), Jibran 917) and Gohar Ali (14) were the other leading runs takers. For Peshawar Nasir Ahmad, left-arm pacer, took three wickets for 32 runs, Mian Khan, Hammad-ul-Hassan, Mehfooz Sabri got two wickets each.In reply, Peshawar bundled out for 148 with Shahid Khan (35) and Nasir Ahmad not out 44 were the leading runs takers, none of the other batsmen could stand in front of Nowshera bowlers. Thus Peshawar made 148 runs after playing 50 overs. For Nowshera Abdullah took four wickets for 23 runs, Adnan got three wickets for 52 runs and Farhan got two wickets for 22 runs while Rashid Ali got one wicket. Nowshera after taking 49 runs lead, scored 264 runs for the loss of all wickets in their second innings after playing 68 overs. Opener Naveed Khan made 93 off 137 balls with 13 boundaries, Farhan Khan 932), Akbar (35), Tariq Khan (24) were the leading runs takers. For Peshawar Hidayatullah claimed three wickets, Mehfooz got two wickets and Mian Khan, Hammad and Sajjad Ahmad got one wicket each. In reply, Peshawar in its second innings bowled out for 144 runs after playing only 33 overs. Mehfooz (56), Nasir (46) and Fawad Ali (22) were the leading scorers. For Nowshera Abdullah claimed five wickets, before taking four in the first innings to make a nine wickets haul in the match. Sohail Khan took three wickets and Adnan got two wickets. Muhammad Kaleem and Javed Alam supervised the match while Amir Khan acted as scorer.
