Firing, blast kill seven in Dera Bugti

Quetta - Women and children among seven people were killed in firing and landmine explosion in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti area on Thursday.

Four people were also injured in the incidents who were shifted to local hospital.

In Toba Nokhani, armed men attacked Gujjar’s house and resorted to indiscriminate firing on the inhabitants which resulted in killing of Gujjar, his two wives and three children, said the Levies officials.

Separately, rescuers vehicle hit a landmine when they were shifting the victims to hospital for medico-legal formalities. A man was killed as a result of landmine explosion while four others sustained injuries. Some of the injured were reportedly in serious condition.

The blast badly damaged the vehicle. Levies officials rushed to the blast scene and shifted the bodies and wounded to PPL Hospital. After medico-legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to their heirs.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reached Sui to express solidarity with victim family of Toba Nokhani in which six people were killed on Thursday.

Talking to media persons in Sui, the home minister thanked the chief minister for announcing Rs1 million for each killed and Rs0.5 million for each injured of the incident.

“Killing children and women in cold blood is appalling and those receiving funds from foreign countries and particularly India have shed blood of the innocent people,” Bugti said.

He said the government wouldn’t keep mum over this and would take stern action against the perpetrators. The home minister reiterated that those spoiling law and order situation in Dera Bugti would be dealt with iron hands.

TWO TERRORISTS KILLED IN TURBAT IBO

INP adds: Two terrorists were killed and weapons recovered during Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) of security forces here on Thursday.

Security sources said that IBO was conducted against extremists in Tump area of Turbat district of Balochistan.

During operation, the security forces in exchange of firing killed two terrorists besides recovering weapons from their possession.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from possession of the terrorists killed in the firing exchange.
