Ebad avoids media on return

KARACHI - Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan, who left for Dubai a week ago, returned back to Karachi, dispelling rumours of his resignation over some reservations on the ongoing targeted operation in the mega city.
He along with his family arrived at Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Tuesday and moved towards the Governor House without taking to media. A large number of journalists from different media outlets waited long for his arrival at the airport in order to get the reason of his visit abroad. However, the top provincial official completely avoided to face media.
Earlier, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement sources revealed that the governor had sent his resignation to President Mamnoon Hussain due to the targeted operation against his party workers and leaders in Sindh.
However, the governor’s spokesman afterwards denied the rumours and termed them baseless, while the President’s office also remained silent pertaining to confirmation or denial of the resignation report.
There are reports that Dr Ishratul Ebad was contacted by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar who urged the governor to take back his decision and assured to resolve MQM’s reservations on the Karachi operation.
