HAFIZABAD - A married woman, mother of three children, was shot dead by her husband and his brother for “honour”.
According to police source, deceased Shabana Kousar was married to Iqbal in Mohallah Akhtar Town about six years back. Iqbal and Bilal had suspected her of having illicit relations with someone. The accused and deceased had exchanged harsh words as a result of which, the accused got enraged and opened fire on her. She died before any medical aid. The police rushed to the spot and arrested both the accused and shifted the body to the city morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, a bid to ravish a 9-year-old girl by three fiendish young man in Kaleke village was foiled by the villagers.
According to police source, Aliza Rani was on way to nearby Madrissa, when three vagabonds, Samiullah, Zunair and Waqas lured her away to a deserted house where they attempted to rape her but the victim raised an alarm. Some villagers rushed to the spot and overpowered Samiullah and Zunair while Waqas managed his escape. The police have arrested Samiullah and Zunair and raiding different places to arrest the third accused, The police have registered a case against them accordingly.
