Clerics decree death to culprits
LAHORE - Some 50 religious scholars have issued a decree, which announced death penalty for those involved in sex abuse of children in Kasur village.
“The courts should announce death sentence for the criminals involved in this heinous crime. Islam declares it the worst sin against humanity,” the decree reads.
The decree was issued on Monday by the religious scholars under the banner of Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistan.
The religious scholars condemned the incident and said the culprits involved in the crime and who backed them were not even human. The negligence by the authorities in pursuing the case against the criminals would also be considered as the same crime in light of the teachings of Islam, they added.
They demanded of the government follow the case vigorously to avoid such a shameful incident in future. The decree was issued by some 50 religious scholars including Allama Raghib Naeemi, Allama Mufti Mansha, Mufti Imran Hanfi, Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri, Pir Mohibullah Noori, Mufti Raza-e-Mustfa, Mufti Ramzan Sialvi, Mufti Jamil Ahmed and others.
