Pakistan offers incentives to investors: PM


ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday said Pakistan offers lucrative incentives for foreign investors.
He was talking to V Shankar, Group Executive Director and CEO Europe, Middle East, Africa and America’s Standard Chartered Bank who called on him at the Prime Minister House here.
The Prime Minister appreciated the contributions of Standard Chartered Bank in the country’s economic development. The Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank V Shankar apprised the Prime Minister that he would arrange his meetings with the top British CEOs during his visit to the United Kingdom in May.
He appreciated the decision of government to normalise trade relations with India as it would open new corridors of cooperation between the two countries.
The Prime Minister asked the Chief Executive to hold meetings with the Chambers of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and the Chairman, Board of Investment to find out how best investment can be increased in Pakistan in the fields of energy, infrastructure and agriculture.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Chairman Board of Investment (BoI) Saleem H. Mandviwalla, Secretary BoI and other senior officials were also present.
