Property tax record of Punjab to be computerised by year end

LAHORE - Provincial Minister Excise and Taxation Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has issued instructions to computerise property tax record of Punjab by end of current year, said sources in the Excise and Taxation on Wednesday.
They said that the Minister issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting in the office of Secretary Excise and Taxation, Khalid Masood Ch. at later office.
It is worth mentioning here that initially record of Gujranwala Division would be computerised by the end of this month. In the month of September record of Lahore division would be completed then by the end of this year property tax record of Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, and DG Khan districts would be computerised. An Excise and Taxation officer seeking anonymity said that it was good decision since it would end the monopoly of the excise staff and corruption culture in the department.
