KARACHI - Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has started working on its national shadow budget 2015-16 with inputs of all trade bodies of the country.
The integrated plan for revival of national economy will be submitted to the federal government, said President FPCCI Mian Muhammad Adrees while presiding over the second meeting of the members of FPCCI here. FPCCI statement here on Monday said the meeting was attended by a number of members of FPCCI from across the country.
Leaders of United Businessmen Group at FPCCI, S.M. Muneer and Iftikhar Ali Malik, and FPCCI Senior Vice President Abdul Rahim Janoo, and FPCCI Vice Presidents Muhammad Waseem Vohra, Ikram Rajput, Khwaja Zara Kaleem, Hameed Akhtar Chadda, Muhammad Akram Farid, Zahid Anwar, Haji Sultan Khan Mohmand and Fehmeeda Jamali also attended the meeting. The meeting was conducted simultaneously in Lahore through video conference.
President FPCCI Mian Muhammad Adrees briefed the meeting about the initiatives being taken for restructuring and revamping of FPCCI which was highly appreciated. He also highlighted the efforts being made by FPCCI for a shadow national budget with the input of all trade bodies.
During the meeting the Head of Departments of FPCCI also gave brief presentations on the activities being undertaken by their departments.
President FPCCI informed the participants that the management is following merit in selection of companies for participation in international fairs and exhibitions, and allocate them stalls through fair balloting.
He also informed the house that letters have already been sent to all chambers and associations for their input in this regard. He apprised the members of the new markets to be explored through exhibitions and trade delegations.
During the meeting, various economic issues of the country particularly with reference to foreign investment, removal of energy crises, poverty alleviation, revival of sick industries etc. also came under discussion.
