KP govts donation for Shaukat Khanum

LAHORE The government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa has handed over a cheque of Rs 51 million to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Says a press release. The donation is aimed to facilitate the construction of the Hospital. The m management of the hospital has thanked the Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti and the Government of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa for this support. It may be recalled that the land for the Hospital was also donated by the provincial government. Frst phase, comprising outpatient clinics, chemotherapy facilities and an inpatient unit will be completed in three years. The estimated cost of the first phase is Rs 400 million. The second and third phases to add radiation and surgical services, increase the total number of beds, and add a full intensive care unit. The construction of a comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment facility in Peshawar will not only provide state-of-the-art cancer treatment services to the people of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, irrespective of their ability to pay, but will also help raise healthcare standards and provide training and employment opportunities in the wider region.
